Bay Area AI Meetup #3 Report

On Friday, July 17, 2026, we held “Bay Area AI Meetup #3: Practical Live Demos of AI Tools” at Niterra North America, Inc. in Santa Clara.

This meetup focused on ways to use a variety of AI tools and AI agents, rather than having AI write code to build something.

芳賀 introduced research with Perplexity, ways to build a knowledge base with fewer hallucinations using Claude Projects, and creating presentation materials with Claude Design. All of the features looked intuitive and potentially useful for everyday work.

徳田 gave a demonstration of creating a MyGPT app that uses voice. The process of creating and publishing a MyGPT app on the spot, in which users follow the AI's spoken prompts to translate Japanese proverbs into English, was very smooth and showed how accessible building apps with AI can be.

山中 demonstrated a workflow from gathering information with Gemini Deep Research to organizing it and building a database with Gemini Notebook, then creating presentations and reports. The presentation also included demonstrations of editing slides and creating apps with Gemini Canvas, connecting to Gmail and Slack with the Manus agent and connectors, and automating browser actions. It was a memorable presentation that highlighted the potential of AI agents.

Once again, participants asked many questions, and lively discussions about ways to use AI continued until the end of the session.

Thank you to everyone who attended, to all our speakers, and to Niterra North America, Inc. for providing the venue.
